Summary
FullFrame does not collect, transmit, or sell any data. It has no servers, no analytics, and makes no network requests. Everything it produces stays on your computer.
What FullFrame handles
To do its job, FullFrame necessarily processes:
- The visible contents of the tab you capture. When you ask for a screenshot, Chrome hands FullFrame an image of the tab. It is composed into your screenshot and stored in your browser's local storage so the editor can open it.
- The page's dimensions and scroll position. Measured so the capture can be scrolled and stitched. Page text, form values, cookies and passwords are never read.
- The page title and address. Used only to name the file you download.
- Audio and video you choose to record. Tab audio, microphone and camera are each off by default and are only switched on for a recording you started. They are switched off when it stops.
- Your settings. Format, quality, filename pattern and similar preferences.
Where it goes
Nowhere. All of the above is written to storage inside your own browser profile, on your own device, and to files you explicitly download. FullFrame contains no code that contacts a network, and its permissions do not include any website. The extension is published unminified, and its repository includes an automated check that fails if any file introduces a network call or loads remote code.
How long it is kept
Captures and recordings are held in local browser storage so you can reopen them. FullFrame keeps the 25 most recent for up to 14 days and then deletes them automatically. You can delete all of them immediately in Settings, under "Privacy and data". Uninstalling the extension removes everything.
Permissions
FullFrame requests the smallest set of permissions that make it work. It has no host permissions, meaning it holds no standing access to any website. Chrome grants it access to a single tab, at the moment you click its icon or press its shortcut, and that access lapses afterwards.
Screen recording permission is optional and is only requested the first time you record a screen or window. Camera and microphone access is requested only if you turn those options on, and it is granted to FullFrame itself, never to the sites you visit.
Third parties
There are none. FullFrame bundles no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, no fonts or scripts from a content delivery network, and no third-party libraries.
Children
FullFrame is a utility with no accounts and no data collection, and is not directed at children.
Changes
If a future version ever changes what FullFrame handles, this policy will be updated before that version is published, and the change will be described in the extension's listing.
